Job Summary & Responsibilities As our Chaplain, you will serve as a vital spiritual leader and compassionate caregiver within our hospital community, providing essential spiritual counseling and support to patients, families, and staff. Every day, you will provide direct spiritual, religious, and existential care, offering compassionate presence, support, and appropriate rituals to patients, families, and staff, especially during times of crisis or grief. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to advocate for spiritual needs and integrate holistic care, ensuring respect for diverse beliefs.
Works collaboratively with members of the spiritual care department to build a cohesive, spiritually grounded and mutually formative team; covers on-call and holiday shifts as scheduled based on department need
Establishes mutually respectful working relationships with staff and physicians from a variety of departments
Gathers and evaluates relevant information pertinent to the holistic care of patients and their families
Develops and implements spiritual care plans to promote the well-being of patients, including but not limited to crisis intervention, spiritual care and counseling, assistance with religious/spiritual rituals
Provides spiritual care and counseling for patients and their families in response to referrals and through proactive rounding
Documents assessments and interventions in the Electronic Medical Record
Required & Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree upon hire
One unit of CPE (ACPE, NACC accredited) upon hire
Preferred
Two or more units of CPE (ACPE, NACC accredited)
Masters Degree
