Overview The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II works in the neurodiagnostic laboratories performing EEG, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), and long-term monitoring (LTM). The technologist is responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, and providing a safe testing environment. May be required to work within the EEG/EMU on-call schedule, including after hours, nights, and weekends on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

Perform EEG, EMU, and LTM procedures as applicable.

Ensure complete and accurate patient preparation and data acquisition.

Maintain a safe testing environment and demonstrate competent skills and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedures.

Assist in on-call scheduling as applicable (including nights and weekends).

Contribute to ongoing growth, education, and technology use within the Neurodiagnostic Department.

This position can be filled by a Tech II or III. Tech II/III responsibilities align with minimum competency in neurodiagnostic testing in the area of hire.

Qualifications Tech II Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, or Associate's degree or higher, or accredited school of END Technology.

Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Two or more years in electro neuro diagnostic procedure testing (including clinical experience during formal END education).

Good human relation and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages and explain tests to provide a relaxing environment.

Licenses and Certifications

BLS certification.

Certification in one or more: EEG, EP, NCS, CNIM, CLTM, CAP, PSG from an accredited society (AAET, ABEM, ABRET, etc.).

Within two years of employment, specific ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (CLTM) certification is required in the laboratory of hire. The Registry Examination should be attempted as soon as eligible.

Tech III Qualifications

Associates degree from an accredited school of EEG/NCS/EP Technology and a National Registry certification in two or EEG, NCS, EP, Autonomic, Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) or Long Term Monitoring (CLTM).

BCLS certification.

Two or more years performing electrodiagnostic procedures in EEG/NCS/EP/IOM/LTM/Autonomic.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to participate on a rotating call schedule.

License or Certifications: BCLS; Certification in two or more of: EEG, EP, NCS, CNIM, CLTM, CAP, PSG, CNCT from an accredited society (AAET, ABEM, ABRET, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits

Tech II: Compensation range is $30.87 - $46.32 per hour.

Tech III: Compensation range is $32.74 - $49.15 per hour.

Work Details

Schedule: Full Time

Hours/Pay Period: 80

Schedule Details: 19:00-07:00, varied shifts within two-week pay period; nights varied; 80 hours per pay period.

Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekend surgical EEG monitoring coverage.

Site: Mayo Clinic campuses in multiple locations; international location details vary.
