Summary EH&S Technicians perform RCRA Hazardous and Universal Waste activities at the main campus and suburban sites. These positions support the implementation of safety and environmental compliance by identifying safety hazards and risks, while helping to ensure teammates are informed about safe working practices. Responsibilities also include involvement with Joint Commission safety tracer rounds and comprehensive environmental, health, and safety inspections.
Responsibilities
Assist with maintaining the Environment of Care and Life Safety Code.
Supervise RCRA Hazardous and Pharmaceutical Waste Program.
Supervise Universal Waste program ensuring batteries, ballasts, UV lamps, aerosol cans are stored and shipped per regulation.
Maintain hazardous waste manifests and par level for hazardous waste containers.
First responder for fire, chemical, pharmaceutical, and hazardous waste spills.
Assist with safety and environmental compliance, projects, and related assigned duties.
Other information Education Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
None required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Requires previous experience working with hazardous waste. Knowledge of RCRA Hazardous Waste Regulations.
