is seeking an experienced
Take‑Off Technician
to support our estimating team by producing accurate, timely earthwork quantity take-offs for competitive bid proposals. This role is essential to our preconstruction process and requires strong technical ability, excellent documentation skills, and deep familiarity with AGTEK or comparable earthwork takeoff software. This is not an entry‑level position; candidates must have direct experience performing earthwork takeoffs with AGTEK or similar 3D quantity takeoff tools.

The
Take‑Off Technician
plays a vital role in
Elite's
bidding process. You will create detailed earthwork take-offs, maintain bid documentation, support estimators, and ensure that all bid requirements are understood and applied accurately. This role requires strong technical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with people at varying technical levels.
Key Responsibilities
Complete daily assigned tasks per the internal bid log
Communicate with Project Estimators regarding required quantities for upcoming bids
Review, interpret, and apply all documents in bid folders, including grading plans and specifications
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using AGTEK, Bluebeam, and similar programs
Document and save addenda, RFIs, and all bid-related communication
Monitor bid-hosting platforms (BidMail, BuildingConnected, etc.) for updates
Update and complete Elite's custom bid form spreadsheets
Assist with organizing and delivering bid documents
Maintain and update SOPs for the position
Qualifications
Experience using AGTEK or comparable 3D earthwork takeoff software
Strong computer takeoff skills: Bluebeam, Civil Image, Carlson, AGTEK, or similar
Excellent documentation and organizational abilities
Strong time management and ability to handle multiple deadlines
Clear communication across varying technical backgrounds
Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and proactive
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, General Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management preferred.
Sales or negotiation experience is a plus
Pay & Benefits
Full‑time, Non‑Exempt, W2 position.
Competitive hourly pay at $22 to $30, based on experience
Health, dental, and vision (employer covers employee at 100% for base health and dental plans (Kaiser and United Healthcare)
Paid time off (1 week to start)
Holidays (7 days)
$25k Life insurance plan covered by employer at 100%.
