Position Summary
UNC School of Law
seeks a motivated and detail-oriented
Development Administrative Assistant
to provide essential administrative and operational support to a dynamic and results-driven Advancement team. This temporary, full‑time position plays a key role in ensuring accurate gift processing, meaningful donor stewardship, and effective alumni and volunteer engagement. The initial priority for this role will be to complete a robust alumni research project by
January 30 . Following the successful completion of this project, additional responsibilities may include gift processing, donor stewardship activities, and support for alumni and volunteer engagement initiatives. Extension of the position beyond the initial project will be based on organizational needs and performance.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with data and systems, and enjoys contributing to relationship‑based fundraising in a collaborative, fast‑paced higher education environment.
This position is based on‑site at UNC Chapel Hill, with the option for a hybrid schedule of up to two remote days per week after 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
Research alumni records for multiple law class years to ensure accuracy of employment and contact information.
Process gifts efficiently and accurately to ensure seamless donor transactions.
Implement weekly stewardship activities to express gratitude and foster strong relationships with our valued donors.
Generate reports and assist in data analysis to inform strategic decision‑making.
Provide comprehensive support for donor and volunteer communications, ensuring timely and personalized interactions.
Assist with alumni relations initiatives to engage our network of graduates.
Support board and committee activities by coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and facilitating communications.
Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity in our constituent management system, DAVIE.
Qualifications Minimum Years of Experience Required: 3; Minimum Years of Education After High School Required: 4.
Prior administrative experience in fundraising within a higher education or nonprofit environment is preferred.
Proficiency with database management systems, with specific experience in UNC DAVIE considered a strong advantage.
Familiarity with UNC and its organizational structure is desirable.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
