Corrosion Control Technician - 2nd Shift Join our team as a Corrosion Control Technician - 2nd Shift at KBR, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL. This role supports the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP).

Program Summary The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary Perform duties related to setting up and operating stationary and portable sandblasting equipment to clean metal and non‑metal surfaces. Apply coating materials—paint, varnish, lacquer, shellac—on wood, metal, glass, concrete, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and related methods. Provide technical assistance and training to lower‑level painters and assist higher‑level painters. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.

Eight years directly related work experience.

Completion of Vehicle Body Repair Course or equivalent.

Apprenticeship as a painter/sandblaster is preferred.

Valid state motor vehicle operator license and ability to obtain a Tactical Operator License.

Knowledge of operating and preventive maintenance of sandblasting equipment, surface cleaning characteristics, abrasive quality, and appropriate air pressures.

Skill to position and hold work pieces and blasting nozzles for safe blasting operations.

Knowledge of OSHA, SPCC, EPA regulations for sandblasting and material disposal.

Completion of Small Boat Preservation Course or equivalent.

Knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods.

Apprenticeship as a painter in a shipyard environment.

Knowledge of OSHA, SSPC, NACE, EPA regulations concerning painting.

Medically and physically capable of wearing a respirator.

Able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, in high or low temperatures and at heights.

Able to lift 50 pounds unaided.

Ability to comply with safety, quality, and time schedule standards.

U.S. Citizen.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
