Role Overview The pastry cook is a vital member of the Food & Beverage team, dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service. The kitchen offers endless learning and growth opportunities for line cooks of all levels.
What You Will Do
Clean and process raw ingredients, preparing mise‑en‑place and bases for pastry items.
Ensure high standards of food hygiene, storage, and kitchen cleanliness.
Complete Food Safe training certification.
Prepare consistent, high‑quality pastry items per guest orders, following recipe and presentation standards.
Set up and maintain the workstation for breakfast, lunch, or dinner service, prepping only what is needed.
Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment such as fryers, stoves, and mixers.
Label, rotate, and store perishables properly, checking stock levels and noting shortages.
Minimize food waste, adhering to food‑cost and usage policies.
Communicate with the Pastry Chef, contributing to menu development and recipe creation.
What You Bring
Culinary education is strongly preferred; several years of commercial cooking experience may substitute.
Previous experience in a pastry kitchen, ideally in a high‑volume or fine dining environment.
Strong understanding of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality pastries and desserts.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship.
