The organization is comprised of nearly 12,000 permanent and seasonal employees. The mission is to serve and safeguard the people and protect the property and resources of California.
Job Description and Duties This is a non‑testing classification, therefore anyone meeting the minimum qualifications listed on the classification specification may apply for these positions.

Special Requirements If using education to meet Minimum Qualifications, provide transcripts showing completion of at least 12 semester units or 18 quarter units from a recognized accredited college or university in forestry or fire science, natural resource management, conservation, or a closely related subject.
This position requires Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) Clearance prior to hiring. The incumbent may be required to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self‑contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Annual medical clearance is required. Duties involve field work requiring physical performance, including running, walking, climbing, jumping, twisting, bending and lifting over 25 pounds; pace of work is typically set by emergency situations.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
