CT PUMP OPERATOR Responsibilities and Duties

Operates fluid pumps and associated equipment without supervision.

Operates nitrogen pumps and associated equipment without supervision.

Operates coil tubing units and associated equipment without supervision.

Mobilizes equipment by driving coiled tubing units, pump trucks, N2 trucks, transports (land operations only), or pickup trucks to the job location.

Conducts pre‑job and post‑job inspections and testing of the coiled tubing units, N2 units, fluid pumps and other ancillary equipment by completing inspection forms.

Conducts maintenance and general upkeep of the coiled tubing units and related equipment.

Maintains a safe work area or job site by following Company HSE and Standard Operating Procedure manuals.

Monitors, inspects and adjusts all major equipment during operations to ensure adequate operation, including adjusting pump and injection rates.

Trains operators and assistants in equipment operations and procedures.

Delegates certain job tasks during job operation.

Writes accurate job tickets, daily logs, pre‑ and post‑job reports, JSA's and other documentation as required.

Prerequisites

Completed a minimum of 365 days as a Services Operator Trainee Level 1 (SO‑1) or equivalent and completed all required “Skills” training for the SO‑2 level before eligibility for advancement.

Knowledge of fluid pumps and associated equipment, including proficiency in proper startup, pumping initiation, tank switching, and maintaining correct rate and pressure per job requirements or procedures.

Knowledge of nitrogen unit operation, including proficiency in proper start, cool down, pumping initiation, liquid nitrogen transfer between tanks, and maintenance of flow rate and pressure per job requirements or procedures.

Knowledge of coiled tubing unit operations, including correct hydraulic hose connection, start‑up, prime mover and hydraulic pump engagement, and understanding of all operating controls.

Proficient at making appropriate adjustments to pumping equipment based on job conditions (rate, temperature, pressure).

Ability to perform field repair of equipment: re‑packing fluid pumps, rebuilding chokes, field‑dressing BOPs and packoffs.

Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment in the field, including downhole complications and surface equipment issues.

Valid CDL with hazardous material endorsement (land districts only - required).

Ability to work a “24‑hour on‑call” schedule.

Ability to meet the physical, language, mathematical and reasoning ability requirements of the SO‑2 position.

Functional Capacity/Physical Requirements

Lift an 80‑lb sack from floor to carry 20 feet, place on a 42‑inch platform, and return to floor five times.

Pull a sled with 175 lbs a distance of 50 feet one time.

Hang from a 1 1/2‑inch rope for a minimum of 15 seconds (offshore only).

Climb to the 3rd rung of a stepladder and return to floor five times.

Lift 80 lbs from floor to knuckle one time.

Lift 50 lbs from knuckle to overhead (crown level).

Language Skills

Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Write routine reports and correspondence.

Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.

Mathematical Skills

Work with probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.

Apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form, handling abstract and concrete variables.

Education : High school diploma/GED (preferred) or equivalent.
