Position Overview Burke is seeking a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Residential Assistant (RA) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. The RA plays a key role in providing daily supervision, active treatment support, and maintaining a safe, clean, and home-like environment while working collaboratively with other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and assist residents with daily living activities
Provide active treatment training and support as scheduled
Promote a positive, respectful, and home-like living environment
Ensure the group home meets Life Safety and Health standards
Complete required documentation, including activity notes, medication inventory records, active treatment documentation, and progress reports
Collaborate with program staff and other professionals
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Education Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Preferred:
Six (6) months of experience working in a direct care role
Licenses & Certifications Required:
Valid Texas driver's license
Special Requirements Ability to complete required training, including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and other assigned modules
Driving record must be insurable under Burke's insurance administrator
Physical Requirements Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to drive a vehicle
Hand and finger dexterity for documentation and daily tasks
