Role Overview The purpose of the Shuttle Driver Trainee‑DOT is to train to perform pickup and delivery of daily routes to domicile drivers and return empty trailers for reloading back to the warehouse.

Responsibilities

Train to perform as a safe and courteous shuttle driver and demonstrate BEK principles during interactions with the public and customers.

Maintain cleanliness of tractors/trailers used during the shift to ensure the upkeep and overall condition of equipment.

Always adhere to all FMCSA laws and regulations to demonstrate compliance.

Ensure trailers and tractors are adequately fueled and fuel levels are consistently maintained on equipment used at the warehouse or shuttle site.

Occasionally complete deliveries to customers to/from the warehouse or shuttle site as needed.

Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras that leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events, and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) – Preferred

At least 6 months of DOT driving experience – Required

Valid Class A CDL with Doubles endorsement

Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations – Required

Ability to read and interpret rules/guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions

Good computer skills

Ability to learn internal applications such as On‑Board Computer and Proof of Delivery equipment

Able to work outside in extreme temperatures (cold and hot)

Ability to follow instructions and take direction

Must be able to lift and move dolly tongue and cases weighing up to 90 pounds occasionally
