Position Overview The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment by washing and organizing dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen surfaces. This role plays a vital part in supporting the food and beverage team by ensuring that kitchen tools and work areas are cleaned, restocked, and ready for service. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with basic food preparation and banquet support. Essential Functions
Wash and sanitize all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and flatware using proper equipment and techniques.
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors, walls, appliances, sinks, and worktables.
Properly dispose of trash and recyclables in designated containers.
Replenish clean dishware and utensils to service and prep areas.
Operate dishwashing machines and equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist with basic food prep tasks, including safe handling of kitchen tools and ingredients.
Stock, organize, and rotate kitchen supplies and food items.
Provide support during banquets and events with line restocking and cleanup duties.
Perform other related duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Note: Employee may be required to undertake additional tasks as needed or as directed, within the responsibilities of their role.
Work Experience
Prior experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment preferred but not required.
Experience working in a high‑paced, team‑oriented environment is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Frequent exposure to hot water, steam, cleaning chemicals, and hot surfaces.
Must be able to work on wet or slippery kitchen floors.
Work is primarily indoors in a fast‑paced, noisy environment.
Requires standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and stooping for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely.
Effective teamwork and communication skills.
Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screening and criminal background check is required.
Must maintain professional conduct and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented and stable work environment.
Possession of a valid California driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
