Purpose:
Safely operate vehicles to transport equipment for the dealership. During delivery, this person may instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities primarily using a rollback truck
Supports the sales department with equipment delivery as needed
May assist the parts department with part order pickups
Maintains activity records and obtains necessary signatures and receipts
May offload semi-trucks as needed
Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA, and company policy
Accountable for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties
May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required
May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
Other appropriate responsibilities assigned by manager
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
1+ years’ experience pulling a gooseneck, tilt, or utility trailer; experience as a semi-truck operator is a plus.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
Experience in hauling irregular and oversized loads.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safe driving practices.
Knowledge of proper load securement techniques.
Valid driver’s license required.
Driving record that meets insurance company parameters.
Ability to lift items weighing 75 lbs. repeatedly.
Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner's Certificate may be required.
