Job Description We are seeking a Preschool Aide who is compassionate, dependable, and committed to working with young children. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing heart, be a strong team player, and possess a deep understanding of students with diverse developmental needs. This role supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and faith-centered learning environment where every child can grow.
Responsibilities
Classroom support for lead teacher and students
Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
Lead small group activities
Help prepare and organize classroom materials
Support transitions throughout the school day
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning space
Monitor children to ensure a safe, healthy environment at all times
Encourage positive behavior using gentle guidance and redirection
Build warm, trusting relationships with children
Model respectful behavior and problem-solving strategies
Support children’s emotional regulation, including comforting when upset
Assist in teaching age-appropriate skills such as letters, numbers, and social interaction
Encourage participation and confidence in classroom activities
Promote positive behavior and social development
Uphold and model Catholic values throughout the school day
Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families
Qualifications
Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
Patient, caring, and compassionate demeanor
Ability to work collaboratively and follow directions from lead teacher
Comfortable supporting children with special or additional needs
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
Must pass a background check in accordance with diocesan and state regulation
