Overview
Trump Winery, Virginia’s largest vineyard and producer of premium wines and ciders, is looking for a Winery Technician to join our team. This position reports directly to the Winemaker and will operate, repair, and maintain all winery machinery, mechanical equipment, and buildings by performing routine and preventative maintenance, adjustments, repairs, and upgrades on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, production machines, infrastructure, fixtures, furnishings, buildings, and more. The successful candidate will generate suggestions for improving work and develop innovative approaches and ideas. We provide a fun atmosphere with an opportunity to grow. Position: Winery Technician Wages: $25-$30 per hour depending on experience Location: 20 miles from Charlottesville Essential Duties
Operate Winery equipment including but not limited to bottling lines, pumps, filters, presses Independently perform routine and preventative maintenance of all winery facilities and equipment Perform production line changeovers and adjustments in a timely manner Troubleshoot mechanical problems Assist with new equipment start-ups and installations as required Comply with all safety requirements, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment, including, but not limited to, Lock Out Tag Out, Fall Plan daily, weekly, and monthly work tasks, complete or arrange emergency repairs whenever necessary, and participate in long-term planning for the winery when requested Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, utilizing your expertise in industrial equipment and advanced refrigeration technologies Install, repair, and replace HVAC components, including chillers, compressors, motors, and complex control systems Provide assistance to the winery and maintenance teams as needed Requirements
Ability to communicate well with supervisors, other management, and co-workers Ability to work independently High school diploma or GED required Must have a valid driver’s license Work on feet for eight hours a day; ability to work long hours and/or seven days a week during critical times (namely harvest and bottling) Able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 70 pounds Frequently bends over, kneels, twists, reaches over head, climbs stairs, ladders, and walks varied surfaces (paved, incline, uneven, etc) Able to climb stairs and work at various heights and awkward positions (kneeling, lying down, or squatting) Ability to work in all types of weather Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, drawings, and blueprints Benefits
