Overview Ascendance is looking for an experienced, full‑time, working Shop Foreman to serve as an effective leader on our team. This role is responsible for monitoring work activity, working with clients and customers, assisting with repairs or other tasks involved in client work orders, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and enforcing policies and procedures associated with the shop floor. The successful team member has 3‑5 years of diesel mechanic experience with at least one year of fleet and/or management experience.
Responsibilities
Ensure that all work is completed efficiently and meets quality standards
Communicate effectively with other shifts to manage workflow
Keep up‑to‑date on the latest workplace safety and environmental requirements and enforce all health and safety policies on the shop floor
Interview drop‑off drivers for complete vehicle complaints and document
Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment
Create job orders, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures
Test‑drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly
Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk
Keep abreast of training and factory technical bulletins
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction
Basic Qualifications
3‑5 years of diesel mechanic experience
Strong leadership, organizational, math, and writing skills
Ability to prioritize work in a fast‑paced environment
1 year of fleet or dealership experience
1 year of management or customer service experience
Licenses/Education/Training
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Previous Navistar or Cummins training preferred
A S E certification preferred
CDL preferred
PA State Inspection License preferred
