Primary Purpose
Nursing adjunct teach, supervise and evaluate students in clinical setting (hospital, community, skill or simulation laboratories). Essential Job Functions
Teach, supervise and evaluate students in clinical setting (hospital, community, skill or simulation laboratories). Identify appropriate clinical assignments based on course objectives. Facilitate students meeting course objectives by providing appropriate learning experiences. Evaluate student performance in meeting clinical objectives. Maintain communication with course lead faculty and Director of Clinical Services. Attend all required NSU and clinical facility training and orientation programs. Complete lab referrals as indicated for individual students. Complete anecdotal records as indicated for individual students. Maintain professional relationships with clinical facilities. Job Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Recent clinical experience and knowledge of assigned clinical rotation. Basic understanding of electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ability to assess and evaluate student performance. Ability to communicate with all stakeholders. Ability to clearly communicate in writing. Create climate that is conducive to learning. Role model professional behaviors. Required Certifications/Licensures
Active, unencumbered Florida RN or APRN license Current immunizations (as required by clinical facilities) Basic Life Support and/or other certifications related to teaching assignment. Required Education
Bachelor's Degree Major (if required: Nursing Preferred Qualifications
Clinical and classroom teaching experience in undergraduate nursing program preferred. Masters or Doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline preferred. Is this a safety sensitive position?
