As a Janitor/Porter Associate at Related Management Company, your role is vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive property. You will perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep the property in top condition, showing pride in your building and grounds. In this position, you’ll also have the chance to develop new skills by working closely with the maintenance team on minor repairs and preventative measures. Additionally, you'll be able to learn, practice, and apply new skills for future career growth in collaboration with your property’s leaders.
What You’ll Do:
Grounds & Common Areas
Sweep sidewalks, terraces, lobbies, and hallways
Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the building
Respond quickly to spills, weather‑related messes, or other safety hazards
Cleaning & Detailing
Clean and polish floors, glass, mirrors, brass, and woodwork
Deep clean as needed (carpet cleaning, grout scrubbing, waxing floors)
Maintain the laundry room, fitness center, and management offices
Report any damage or safety issues to the Resident Manager
Building Maintenance Support
Clean stairwells, service areas, and the compactor room
Change light bulbs and help prepare units for new residents
Use building systems to log tasks and report ongoing issues
Resident & Concierge Support
Cover the front desk during concierge breaks
Monitor service doors during move‑ins and deliveries
Assist with unit inspections and ensure spaces look great for tours
Special Projects & Events
Help set up and clean shared spaces like lounges, rooftops, and gyms
Support building events and gatherings by helping with logistics and cleanup
Keep shared spaces looking welcoming and refreshed
Sustainability & Safety
Keep elevators, trash rooms, and amenity areas clean and odor‑free
Support recycling and compost programs
Perform scent and cleanliness checks to ensure the building feels fresh
Participate in team meetings and be open to cross‑training
Qualifications Compensation:
$22.82 / HR
Benefits:
Local 1 Union
We currently have two shifts open.
Schedule:
Sunday – Thursday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Tuesday - Saturday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
What You Bring:
A strong work ethic and a helpful attitude
1-3 Years of experience in janitorial, porter, or cleaning roles is a plus
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all seasons
Ability to lift to 50 lbs and be on your feet for most of the shift
High attention to detail and pride in cleanliness
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
