Cardiac Monitor Tech – PICU – Nights (250004VO) Under general supervision, follows established policies, procedures and professional guidelines. Responsible for monitoring and identifying basic normal cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias and lethal arrhythmias; reporting these findings to the appropriate personnel, and rhythm documentation and labeling per TGH policy.

Performs customer‑service, receptionist, and clerical/secretarial activities. Serves as a communication resource for patients, visitors, family, and health‑care team members, triaging communication priorities. Answers the telephone and patient intercom system. Alerts nursing staff to patient and family concerns and to other calls. Orders supplies and stocks items as required. Dual‑role responsibilities will not be performed at the same time, but staff may flex between the roles based on organizational needs. Performs job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Successful completion of an EKG certification program or previous experience as a Monitor Technician in an acute care hospital AND successful completion of a competency assessment required.

Ability to accurately interpret rhythm strips and recognize required changes.

Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills, medical terminology and effective verbal and written communication.

Licensed paramedic in Florida or nationally recognized paramedic.

BLS required.

This position will monitor pediatric telemetry and cover UCSR duties.

Work Arrangements Eligible for On‑Site work only.

Schedule Full‑time; scheduled days include Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
