About the Role The Child Nutrition Program of Southern California (CNPSC) is seeking a friendly, organized, and professional
Receptionist
to join our La Mesa office. This role is essential to helping with daily operations, providing excellent customer service to providers, and supporting administrative tasks across the program. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with exceptional organizational skills and a working knowledge or willingness to learn about the Child Care Food Program (CACFP) and nutrition standards.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and assist visitors; oversee front desk operations
Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails promptly, coordinating with field representatives when necessary
Prepare, file, and maintain electronic and paper records with strict confidentiality, especially sensitive provider and child information
Assist providers with basic questions regarding nutrition standards, reimbursement processes, and claims, using program handbooks and resources
Support staff with general administrative tasks and communication coordination
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Strong administrative and organizational skills; experience managing filing systems (electronic and physical)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to maintain confidentiality, especially with children’s records or financial data
Excellent communication skills; able to manage multiple calls, messages, and prioritize tasks
Basic knowledge of CACFP nutrition standards or willingness to learn
Comfortable using various software systems and able to learn tools such as Minute Menu / KidKare
Professional, dependable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
