Summary Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Lounge Attendant at Hotel San José is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience in our lounge. This role includes preparing and serving beverages, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and providing attentive, friendly service. Additional duties include clearing and resetting tables, replenishing supplies, and assisting with food service as needed.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to resolve guest concerns professionally, and a thorough understanding of company policies. All team members are expected to uphold and promote our company culture, values, and reputation with guests, staff, vendors, and partners.

The Role The Bartender ensures smooth lounge operations by preparing drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering outstanding guest service. This includes compliance with health and safety standards and supporting the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure immediate response to all guest comments and concerns; inform supervisor and assist in corrective measures
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies, and procedures
Greet guests, seat them, and provide menus and water
Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs
Inspect dining and serving areas for cleanliness and proper setup
Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction and respond to complaints
Maintain communication with kitchen staff, management, and serving staff
Inform patrons of specials and features
Operate POS systems to accept payments and prepare receipts
Coordinate activities of dining room staff for prompt and courteous service
Take beverage orders and build cocktails and non‑alcoholic drinks to Bunkhouse standards
Explain menu items and ingredients
Run prepared food and drinks to patrons
Set up and break down the courtyard area to lounge standards
Serve snacks or submit orders to the kitchen
Clean glasses, utensils, and lounge equipment
Help plan and organize menu and lounge operations
Collect credit card payments and check IDs for alcohol service
Monitor and limit liability related to excessive drinking; arrange transportation if needed
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
Qualifications
Six (6) months experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
Ability to interpret and follow safety rules and operational procedures
Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays
Must hold a valid TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) certification
