A reliable, compassionate driver to transport bereaved family members to funeral services, visitations, and related events. Safely and courteously operate company vehicles while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
Job Responsibilities
Drive company-owned professional vehicles safely to transport bereaved family members to funeral services, visitations, and receptions.
Pick up and return family members to their residence as needed.
Arrive punctually and on or before scheduled appointments.
Interact courteously and professionally, exhibiting sensitivity and minimal conversation to support the grieving environment.
Assist passengers with exiting, entering, and holding items such as umbrellas or handholds for elderly or special needs.
Load and unload mementos, flowers, or other items, and bring them to family residences when required.
Transport and deliver caskets to airports, care centers, or cemeteries; assist with moving caskets.
Courier documents, mementos, or flowers between funeral homes and family residences.
Support the Removal Technician with driving, lifting, or transporting duties.
Wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles to maintain a presentable appearance.
Fuel vehicles as necessary, following safety guidelines and expenditure processes.
Maintain passenger comfort supplies such as tissues, water, or umbrellas.
Report vehicle engine or operating issues to management and drive vehicles for repair or inspection as instructed.
Minimum Requirements Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licenses
Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Chauffeur’s license if required by state/province law.
Experience
At least one (1) year of work experience as a courier, driver, or in a role with direct customer interaction is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Physical effort involving driving hazards, traffic, and weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds; push/pull up to 200 pounds.
Frequent continuous periods of standing or sitting for up to two hours.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
Availability to work weekends and evenings to accommodate business needs.
Strong time‑management and resource‑management skills to ensure efficient completion of duties.
Basic computer skills helpful.
Significant local travel required.
