Job Overview

As a Full‑time Infant Teacher at Sunshine Day Care Center, you will play a crucial role in the development and care of infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months. This position requires a deep understanding of infant development, a nurturing personality, and the ability to create a warm and engaging environment for our youngest learners. You will work closely with parents and fellow staff members to ensure that each child's individual needs are met while fostering their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.

Key Responsibilities

Provide attentive and loving care to infants, including feeding, diapering, and comforting Develop and implement age‑appropriate activities and experiences that promote infant development Create and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment Observe and document each child's progress and developmental milestones Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment Adhere to all state and local regulations regarding infant care and early childhood education Maintain accurate records of daily activities, feedings, diaper changes, and naps Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities Assist in the preparation of bottles and infant meals, following strict hygiene protocols Implement and follow established curriculum guidelines for infant development Provide individualized attention to each infant, recognizing and responding to their unique needs Foster a nurturing and secure attachment between infants and caregivers Promote language development through constant verbal interaction, singing, and reading Encourage sensory exploration and motor skill development through age‑appropriate activities

Qualifications and Requirements

High School Diploma Required. Bachelors Degree preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting Current certification in Infant CPR and First Aid Knowledge of state licensing requirements for infant care Understanding of child development theories and best practices in infant care Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with infants Physical ability to lift and carry infants (up to 25 lbs) and to bend, stoop, and sit on the floor Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of infants and the center Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment
