Job Description
The Kitchen Assistant assists the cooks with the orderly storage and cleanliness of all areas and items within the kitchen, dining room and other food storage, meal service, and disposal areas. Responsibilities include using approved cleaning agents, removing trash, and maintaining hygiene. Duties/Responsibilities
Assists cooks with storage and cleanliness of kitchen, dining room and food storage areas. Uses approved cleaning agents appropriately in all food preparation, storage and disposal zones. Maintains care and safety of all kitchen equipment. Distributes clean utensils, plates, bowls, and cups to patients courteously. Operates a vegetable peeler to peel potatoes and assists with prep work. Lifts heavy trash bags (up to 50 lb) and transports garbage to outside bins. Washes and sanitizes garbage cans daily. Operates dish machine equipment, correctly changing and installing soap and sanitizing when necessary. Stores clean dishes, cups, mugs, bowls, and silverware in proper areas before each meal period and throughout the day. Mops spills and cleans broken dishes in kitchen or dining room. Removes dish‑room mats once per shift and cleans the floor; washes mats daily outside using a hose. Loads dish racks to full capacity but not over‑loading to ensure proper wash and sanitize. Requirements
High School Diploma or GED. ServSafe certification required. Experience with various food preparation equipment. Schedule
Full time Sunday – Tuesday 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM Wednesday 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM Compensation
Hourly rate competitive with experience and location. Benefits for full‑time employees
