Facility Solutions Group is one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products and solutions. We are seeking an Apprentice Electrician to join our Houston, TX team, working under the guidance of a Journeyman electrician on commercial work sites. The role involves assisting with installation, alteration, addition, and repair of electrical systems while gaining trade experience.
Responsibilities
Gather tools and supplies for work sites.
Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.
Trace out short circuits in wiring.
Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
Maintain tools and equipment, keeping supplies and parts organized.
Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
Help secure, relocate, and organize materials and equipment.
Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
Assist in pulling wire, lifting, hoisting, and positioning materials.
Operate hand tools and equipment under direct supervision.
Assist in mounting and strapping conduit.
Assist more senior personnel in electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision.
Perform other project‑related duties as instructed by supervisor.
Will not work on energized circuits or equipment.
Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
Current State Apprentice Electrician's License.
Must pass a drug and background screen.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to multitask while staying organized.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Positive customer service skills.
Experience in lighting is a plus.
