Position Overview The Special Education Teacher plays a vital role in ensuring that all students — including those with exceptionalities — receive the individualized support and high-quality instruction they need to thrive. This teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, families, and service providers to create inclusive learning environments and to deliver instruction aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Key Responsibilities Instruction & Support
Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in inclusive and small group settings.
Differentiate instruction to meet the unique learning needs of students with IEPs.
Modify and adapt curriculum materials as needed to support student access and engagement.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary.
Collaboration & Compliance
Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Collaborate closely with general education teachers to co-plan lessons, accommodations, and modifications.
Partner with families to communicate student progress and build supportive home-school relationships.
Coordinate with related service providers (e.g., speech, OT, PT) to ensure cohesive support.
Culture & Community
Foster a classroom environment that reflects KIPP OKC’s values of love, excellence, and growth.
Maintain high behavioral and academic expectations for all students.

Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility to obtain certification.
Demonstrated knowledge of special education compliance, instruction, and behavior supports.
Preferred
Experience working with students in an urban or high-expectation school setting.
Strong collaboration, communication, and data-driven decision-making skills.
Belief that all students can achieve at high levels with the right support and love.
