Job Description Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the country’s food supply chain. They ensure that customers’ products arrive at their destinations on time and in good condition, and they serve as the face of our company—building lasting relationships with our customers.
Position Details
Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, including over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive‑and‑drop routes.
Deliver and unload food and related products to customers in a safe and timely manner, complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities
Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly.
Act as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Perform all required safety checks (pre/post‑trip), inspecting tractor/truck and trailer to meet DOT regulations and company standards.
Report all safety issues and/or required repairs.
Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines and policies.
Inspect the trailer for proper loading and secure freight; verify load count against customer invoices.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
Attach pre‑loaded trailer to the tractor and drive to deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule.
Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and perform damage‑control checks.
Obtain proper signatures and ensure delivery of items with the customer.
Collect money (cash or checks) when required; load customer returns onto the trailer and secure doors.
Secure all equipment, freight, and trailer properly during the shift.
Perform housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
Complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
6+ months of commercial driving experience.
Valid CDL‑A license.
21+ years of age.
Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
Pass road test.
Obtain or maintain current DOT Health Card and/or be able to secure a new one.
Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight ranging from 10 – 35 pounds up to approximately 60 – 90 pounds.
Compensation $80,000 – $89,000 average annual salary.
