Milling Technician A Shift (3:45am-4pm)

The Milling Technician is responsible for unloading, storing, moving, and processing incoming raw materials to support production operations. This role operates and monitors cleaning, drying, sorting, and milling equipment while ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assigned duties and work scheduled shifts as directed by supervision.
Unload incoming rail cars and containers and move raw materials to designated storage areas.
Operate material handling and storage equipment to support efficient production flow.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot cleaning, drying, sorting, and milling equipment.
Ensure raw materials are properly prepared and meet quality and production standards.
Maintain accurate documentation related to raw material receipt, processing, and quality checks.
Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support operations.
Monitor equipment performance and report issues to Maintenance promptly.
Assist with training and supporting other employees as needed.
Participate in required training related to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, SQF, and food safety.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Follow all safety, sanitation, quality, and production policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and bulk material handling equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain OSHA-required forklift certification.
Ability to operate cleaning, drying, and milling equipment for bulk material processing.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to read and understand documentation related to bulk raw materials.
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
Ability to perform all essential job functions satisfactorily.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally lift, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time).
Regularly bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and climb.
Climb ladders and stairs up to 60 feet.
Work in hot and cold manufacturing environments.
Perform medium to heavy physical work.
Food Safety & Quality This role is responsible for following all food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory requirements, including GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, and SQF standards.
