Head Start Early Childhood Education Teachers (Continuous Recruitment)

Position Overview
Head Start is looking for both 4K and non 4K Teachers! Early Childhood Education teachers will work within the UW Oshkosh Head Start program, which is a federally funded, preschool program for low‑income families. Each position works collaboratively to develop skills and practices to support school readiness for each child and to support our comprehensive services offered to each child and family. Classroom sizes are 15-16 children. The school is in session September – May/early June, with additional August work hours for staff. Our program embraces the High/Scope curriculum, offers many professional development opportunities, and implements the Pyramid Model and Conscious Discipline programs to support social/emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains the safety and physical well‑being of children in a designated classroom
Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
Mentors new teachers and students
Evaluates individualized and developmental educational plans for children in collaboration with other stakeholders, as needed
Plans and facilitates classroom programming and schedules daily classroom activities for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
Hiring Incentive Head Start has a great hiring incentive happening now! New hires working 21 hours or more per week will receive a $500.00 bonus after 90 days. New hires working 20 hours or less per week will receive a $250.00 bonus after the 90‑day period.

Required Qualifications
4K Teacher
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education and/or related field
Wisconsin Pre-Kindergarten certification #080, 086, 088 or 090
Non-4K Teacher
Associate degree or higher in early childhood education or related field with experience teaching preschool
