Security Officer – Full Time Nights Physical Therapy at St. Luke's is seeking a diligent Security Officer to ensure safety for patients, visitors, staff, and property during night shifts. The Officer will display a professional, helpful, and positive attitude at all times while performing security duties, responding to alerts, fires and disasters, and handling violent or hazardous situations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Patrol hospital property to ensure safety for patients, visitors, employees, etc.

Handle and monitor patients that exhibit violent behavior.

Investigate security‑related incidents and document findings on an incident report.

Document and maintain a daily report of activities.

Lock and unlock various buildings around the hospital campus.

Act as part of the fire and disaster response teams.

Enforce the hospital parking policy.

Display a caring and professional attitude when greeting all customers at all times.

Respond to agitation/violent behavior as part of the security alert team, using verbal de‑escalation and/or physical restraint when necessary.

Perform hazardous patient decontamination procedures, including hazard identification, PPE selection, set‑up of appropriate decontamination systems, removal of contaminated clothing, and containment of contaminated waste.

Physical and Sensory Requirements Must be able to sit for up to eight (8) hours/day, in intervals of up to four (4) hours; stand for up to eight (8) hours/day, in intervals of up to four (4) hours; walk for up to eight (8) hours/day, in intervals of up to four (4) hours. Must handle and grip moving equipment, lift, carry, push or walk objects weighing up to 200 pounds with assistance if needed, stoop, bend, crouch and reach above shoulder level. Adequate hearing, general vision, color vision and depth perception are required.

Education High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required, or a minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in lieu of a diploma.

Training and Experience Experience in security or related fields and customer service is preferred.

Licensure and Transportation Must have and maintain a valid Pennsylvania or New Jersey driver’s license accepted by the Network insurance carrier and a good driving record. Must obey all motor vehicle regulations while operating hospital vehicles.
