The salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 annually

The hours at the school are from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Friday

This position requires you to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum between the ages of 2-22 years old.

Job Summary

QSAC’s Education team is hiring! We are looking for a dedicated Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher who will ensure that physical education programs are developed and implemented in accordance with IEP goals, behavioral principles, QSAC Curriculum and the individual needs of every student.

Assessments, Curriculum & Data Collection

Complete formal and informal motor assessments of each student

Develop each student’s physical education curriculum in conjunction with the classroom teaching clinical team

Write IEP goals, objectives and updates in accordance with official mandates

Collect daily/weekly data on student’s progress

Implement behavior management strategies and tactics in accordance with each child’s behavior management plan and school policy

Maintain neat and accurate records, equipment and gym space.

Promote generalization of individually learned skills both in and out of the school environment

Communication & Training

Participate in Clinical/Parent meetings as needed

Conduct physical education presentations and attend any required student/staff meetings

Interact with parents, college interns, professionals other interested parties

Confer regularly with the Director or designee on the progress of the Adapted Physical Education Program

Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings

Qualification & Work Experience

1-2 years of hands‑on PE experience highly preferred

(NYS Students with Disabilities B-2, 1‑6, 5‑9, 7‑12, Permanent, or All Grades required)

B.A. or M.A. Degree in Adapted Physical Education/Physical Education required

Experience in ABA preferred but not required

Able to teach diverse students with varied interests and different physical abilities
