Surgery Scheduling MA- Women's Health Advantage (Healthcare)
Responsibilities:
Initiate the surgery scheduling process by conducting phone interviews with patients to update chart information and clinical history.
Provide patient education as needed.
Assist with scheduling C-sections and other minor surgical procedures.
Track pre-admission testing, surgery clearances, and orders; manage the surgery task list.
Communicate effectively with providers and staff, and follow up on messages sent to providers and/or staff.
Triage incoming calls to the department, addressing patient concerns as appropriate or routing them to the relevant personnel.
Schedule appointments according to the providers instructions and preferences.
Reschedule surgical cases as necessary and adjust providers' schedules to reflect changes.
Document all relevant information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Perform other miscellaneous clerical and clinical duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Post-secondary education in a medical support field preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
Licensure/Certification:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
Experience:
1-2 years of office experience as a CMA preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected Hours: 3640 hours per week
