What You’ll Do and How You’ll Make an Impact
Build and stage loads
of lumber and building materials for contractor and retail deliveries — accurately, safely, and efficiently.
Select, inspect, and prepare materials
to match delivery tickets and customer orders, ensuring the right products, counts, and on-grade material goes out the door.
Operate forklifts and yard equipment
to move, load, and unload materials around the yard.
Assist walk-in customers
in the lumber yard with product selection, material pulls, and loading purchases into their vehicles.
Keep the yard organized and clean , with materials stocked, labeled, and stored in their proper locations for quick access and inventory accuracy.
Support delivery operations
by working closely with dispatch, yard manager, and drivers to build and stage loads for job site delivery, maintaining clear communication on order readiness.
Monitor and maintain inventory , assisting with daily or cycle counts to help track and replenish key items.
Follow all safety rules and procedures
— from forklift operation and load securing to PPE and housekeeping — to keep yourself and your teammates safe.
Assist in general yard upkeep , including sweeping, debris removal, and seasonal maintenance (snow, salt, etc.).
Perform other tasks as assigned by management
to help the yard and store operate smoothly.
What Makes You a Great Fit
A high school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years previous experience with construction or building materials is strongly preferred but not required
Forklift experience (3+ year preferred)
Strong communication skills to interact with customers and co-workers effectively
A willingness to lift, climb, reach, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 lbs with assistance
Ability to work in various temperatures and year-round outdoor conditions
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
A results-driven attitude with a commitment to delivering great service
Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work hard as part of a team
