Responsible for operating a sanitation truck, including driving and collection of solid waste from convenience sites and transporting it to the landfill. Reports to the Solid Waste Director.
Knowledge & Skills Drives and collects solid waste. Operates truck to transport items to and/or from specified destinations. Sees that assigned truck is properly loaded. Inspects the equipment for mechanical problems and informs supervisor of any problems. Load and/or helps load and unload vehicle. Maintains and cleans related equipment. Must intermittently sit and stand as a result of continuously getting in and out of vehicles. Performs all additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Training High school diploma or equivalent. Required CDL License, must have excellent driving record and must be able to operate a roll-off truck. Must pass criminal background check.
