Description The Assistant Costume Shop Supervisor/Draper works with the Costume Supervisor to coordinate workflow of all built, purchased, rented or pulled costume shop projects.
The Chautauqua Theater Company summer season will consist of fully produced productions, as well as several new play workshops/readings. We build our season around the Actor’s Equity Safety Guidelines in addition to following the guidelines of the CDC, IATSE, USA and SDC.
Compensation for this position starts at $16.50/hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $18.50/hour. Chautauqua Theater Company provides housing and up to $250 in travel reimbursement.

Responsibilities
Responsible for patterning and cutting assigned costumes.
Oversee costume alterations.
Assign tasks to the Costume/Wardrobe Assistant.
Work with staff on putting costumes together for productions.
May conduct and/or supervise the dying of fabric.
May conduct and/or supervise the basic costume craft needs.
Monitors costume supply inventory and notifies the Costume Supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
Attend all costume fittings to ensure consistency and construction standards.
May attend technical or other rehearsals on the Costume Supervisor’s behalf.
Other duties as assigned by Costume Supervisor.
Qualifications
1-3 years combined academic or professional shop experience is required.
