Job Summary We are searching for a loving and dedicated housekeeper with the skills to keep our senior priests' home clean and well‑kept.

Job Responsibilities

Upon arrival to work: gather information from the Front Office regarding priest rooms that need special attention (e.g., who is sick, hospitalized, vacation, etc.)

Recognize and respond to:

Smoke alarms

Fire alarms

Other emergencies

Be alert to unusual situations:

Priest’s routine changed

Priest room shows signs of health decline or medical concern

Room and Hallway Care:

Empty waste cans daily

Make beds

Sheets changed weekly on Mondays (unless housekeeper absent or it's a holiday, then on Tuesday)

Shower and shower curtain cleaned

Toilet cleaned under seat, floor ledge, inside, etc.

Clean and dry sink and fixtures to shine

Clean bathroom glass

Mop bathroom floor

Collect soiled/wet towels and put up clean towels: 2 washcloths, 1 bath towel, 1 face towel, 1 bath mat unless requested otherwise

Check toilet paper and soap – keep one extra in bathroom

Dust furniture, shelves, and blinds at least once a week

Vacuum floors (rooms, halls, and linen closets) at least once a week

Move furniture as needed – have maintenance team assist with larger pieces

Defrost room refrigerators as well as the hall refrigerator when needed

Clean hall refrigerator weekly, including top of the refrigerator

When a priest is away, deep clean his room while he is gone (may require collaboration with maintenance and other housekeepers)

Report any maintenance issues by contacting the maintenance team or administrator

Perform other duties as requested by the administrator

In empty rooms: clean toilet and run water fixtures once weekly, vacuum/dust once monthly

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

Mature, honest, and caring adult with good housekeeping skills

Ability to communicate effectively with the priests and team members

Ability to keep priests’ personal information confidential

Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and operate appliances

Skills and Attitudes Required for Success:

Ability to work alone and in team settings

Ability to receive and follow directions from the administrator

Ability to vacuum and dust, wet mop bathrooms, and make a neat bed

Ability to keep cart with cleaning materials supplied and neat

Communicate with a friendly and happy disposition

Stand, bend, push/pull/lift up to 40 pounds consistently during a four‑hour shift

Relationships Required:

Work well with the administrator, other housekeepers, and other team members

Ability to be gentle and compassionate in dealing with priests and the team members

Resources for Which Accountable:

Cleaning chemicals and electrical appliances

Care of priests’ furnishings, clothing, and linens – living room/office, bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom
