Position Overview This position is opening because our current Senior Assistant has accepted his own superintendent position—continuing a strong internal tradition of professional advancement. Brookfield is seeking a motivated, career-driven

Senior Assistant Superintendent

ready to take on meaningful leadership responsibility and prepare for a superintendent role in the near future.

The selected candidate will work directly with Superintendent

Ian Danner , gaining access to a robust national network of industry leaders and receiving mentorship, project involvement, and tournament exposure rarely offered at the assistant level.

Accelerator This role is intentionally structured for future superintendents:

Increasing operational autonomy

Project ownership from planning to completion

Leadership in staff development and daily decision-making

Opportunities to lead major agronomic programs

Education, conference, and tournament volunteer support

Our last Senior Assistant became a superintendent—this position is for the next one.

Major Capital Projects & Master Planning Brookfield is entering a significant improvement cycle. The Senior Assistant will be involved in:

Golf course architect selection

Reviewing and shaping proposed design concepts

Bunker, tee, drainage, and infrastructure renovation

Early planning for long‑term irrigation replacement

Tournament Preparation

Host of

2025 NYS Senior Amateur Championship

Annual WNYPGA events

You will play a key role in preparing championship‑caliber conditions, gaining exposure to high‑pressure agronomy and event management.

The role includes:

Equipment demos and evaluation

Multi‑year fleet planning

Relationship building with major manufacturers and reps

Participation in capital budgeting and presentations

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in leading, training, and developing the grounds staff

Daily monitoring and quality control of turf conditions

Plant protectant and fertility applications

Rainbird Irrigation troubleshooting, scheduling, and system management

Project planning, documentation, and execution

Tournament preparation and detail work

Winter operations including tree work, drainage, and snow mold applications

Compensation

$62,000 to $80,000
