Position Overview
To implement, collaborate and support the seamless integration of Strength & Conditioning enhancement, injury prevention, and rehabilitation services for the assigned affiliate in conjunction with other members of the Medical and S&C team. This is accomplished through the design and implementation of team/individualized performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation programs utilizing scientifically proven methodologies and principles.
Department Overview The Atlanta Braves Performance Department strives to provide a high standard of coaching excellence through a comprehensive performance training system that educates, motivates, and develops the complete Brave.
Responsibilities
Design and implement performance training programs for all athletes at assigned affiliate in accordance with Performance Department vision and mission
Work closely with Minor League Medical Staff, Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coordinator, and Minor League Medical Coordinator to collect Key Performance Indicators for player testing protocols
Implement rehabilitation and return to play protocols in conjunction with Affiliate Athletic Trainer and Medical Staff
Communicate and work in conjunction with Affiliate Athletic Trainer on daily injury reports and adjustments to individual player training sessions
Work in conjunction with Minor League Dietician to provide nutritional guidance & maintain MLB compliant supplement inventory
Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned affiliate weight room facility
Assist with remote and/or in-person offseason training programs for assigned athletes and groups
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
Minimum of 1 year work experience being directly responsible for team training in the professional, collegiate, high school, or private sector
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree preferred
Previous baseball coaching or playing experience preferred
Spanish language competency strongly preferred
