This position exists to provide prompt, courteous service in keeping the dining and kitchen areas neat, clean, and sanitized.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.
Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Maintains cleanliness and order in the kitchen, storage areas, dining room, and the dishwashing station
Empties trash and cleans the trash containers, sweep, mop, organize, and stock
Maintains cleanliness of all dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, pans, etc. using manual and automatic warewashing standards
Ensures dish machine is working properly, reporting issues to leadership as necessary
Provides courteous service in keeping the guests’ dining areas neat, clean, and in order (Dining areas include drink stations, condiment stations, and any table or counter space used for eating on or from which you are serving food)
Buses tables, sanitizes, and disinfects tables and counters, stock dishes, dry goods, sweep, and mop
Provides continuous service and attention to detail
Clears away dirty dishes, glasses, serving dishes, and eating utensils in a timely manner
Removes and throws away disposable products such as paper cups, plates, containers, condiment wrappers, napkins, straws, plastic utensils, etc
Is aware of the location of equipment of any kind to avoid accidents with bus carts, tray jacks, cleaning equipment, fallen food, liquid, or trash
Is available and willing to work at different locations across the Dollywood Properties
Always understands and practices safe food handling, following state and local health department Regulations and ServSafe guidelines
Is an active participant in safety issues relating to personal safety and the safety of fellow hosts and guests
Follows all procedures/standards affecting the Culinary Division’s financial standing such as clocking in/out properly, completion of tasks in a timely and accurate manner and not wasting supplies
Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time
Education and Experience Required
Must be at least 14 years old
Previous food service experience preferred
Must be able to successfully pass post-employment offer background check and drug screening
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees
Must reflect Dollywood’s image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in work
Must be self-motivated and disciplined
Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis
Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information
Must be committed to continuous improvement
Must maintain a professional appearance with good personal hygiene
Must promote and support a “team” work environment by cooperating and helping co-workers
Must be productive in a fast-paced environment
Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays
Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelines
Must be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills
Able to comprehend instructions and retain information
Able to perform duties consistent with creating a safe and secure environment for hosts and guests

Able to tolerate various temperatures while working indoors and outdoors

Able to stand, balance, kneel, stoop and bend to maintain clean work environment and provide guest service
Ability to safely operate equipment according to company and manufacturer guidelines. Ability to safely navigate work environment
Able to reach high and low to get supplies
Able to have finger movement to do detailed work, run a register or guest check system, calculator, etc
Able to sweep and mop
Able to make decisions by analyzing information allowing on-the-spot correction of guests concerns
Able to tolerate extreme heat, extreme cold, and humidity necessary to work in kitchens, walk-ins, freezers, climate changes and be able to work outdoors. (Must be minimum 16 years of age to operate the dishwasher and garbage disposal)
Ability to tolerate approved Ecolab detergents and chemicals necessary clean/sanitize equipment and environment
Able to accommodate many guests at one time, changes in work schedule and job assignments
Able to lift 30 lbs with or without 2-person lift. 30+ lbs require a 2-person lift
Must take Start Fresh training, as well as implement all safety aspects of Start Fresh training
Must comply with all Health Department, ServSafe, and/or Dollywood Company regulations pertaining to safe food handling procedures and practices
