Our restaurant: Our restaurant utilizes a casual, counter-service style, open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, serving pizza and classic American fare. We're a small crew and everyone should expect to be trained on all stations in the kitchen, including prep, grill, fry, pizza, salads, dessert, dishes, and expo. We do not expect you to be a world-class chef- rather, we prioritize building a team of individuals who have basic cooking knowledge and team-players, have an excellent work ethic, and are hungry to grow.
Who is the ideal candidate?
Possesses a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a professional kitchen
Proficient in knowledge of basic kitchen skills, standards, food safety, and etiquette.
Eager to learn new cooking skills and has a passion for cooking
Able to follow and understand recipes
Able to multi-task
Stays calm under pressure
Team-oriented mindset
Committed to excellence, pays attention to detail, and continually strives to exceed guests’ expectations
Exhibits a positive and professional attitude toward guests and staff
Demonstrates a high level of self-awareness and driven toward personal and professional growth
Is a leader and torchbearer for community culture and values, both on and off the clock. Understands and is willing to undertake the challenges of living and working in communal housing in a remote location.
What does this job entail?
Train and work on all food stations including pizza, salads, grill, fryer, dessert, expo, and dishes to prepare a‑la‑carte orders while in a fast‑paced, sometimes high‑volume environment.
Cook the daily staff meal
Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and safety of assigned workstation(s)
Execute all opening and closing tasks
Be willing to jump in wherever asked or needed
Assist with any general cleaning or other duties as assigned
Assist other departments as needed with special projects, requests, or events
Required Skills:
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a professional kitchen
Food Handlers Certification (must acquire prior to employment)
High School Graduate/GED equivalency
Able to work in a standing position for up to 8-12 hours per day
Able to safely lift 60 lbs (50 lbs overhead)
Preferred Skills:
2+ years experience working in a professional kitchen
Food Protection Manager certification
Proficiency working the grill station
