Assistant Athletic Trainer

Essential Functions
Supervision and administration of all sports medicine operations for varsity and competitive club sport student-athletes
Assigned sport specific responsibilities by Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer
Prepare and maintain accurate and up to date medical records for student-athletes and monitor insurance coverage
Educate prospective students, student-athletes, coaches, staff and others in preventative injury maintenance
Evaluation and treatment of injuries and injury rehabilitation
Continuous improvement to the institution's concussion management program for new and returning student-athletes
Budget management and organization
Coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for practice and home & away competitions
Serve as a liaison to doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation
Committing to College, Department of Athletics and Recreation and NCAA rules and regulations
As an institutional staff member actively involved with NCAA Division III prospects, student-athletes, and athletic department personnel, you are responsible to uphold all conference and NCAA rules and regulations. In accordance with NCAA bylaw 11.1, you are responsible to report any known violations and will be held accountable for any violations committed within your department.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum
Bachelor's degree
Current NATABOC certification
Eligible for athletic training licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
CPR / AED certified
Experience in an intercollegiate athletics setting
Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work with a diverse group of people, in intense or emergency medical situations
Must be able to meet continuing education requirements as mandated
Must be able to satisfy the athletic event schedule for travel and work on weekends and evenings
Preferred
Master's Degree
2-4 years related and progressive experience in an intercollegiate athletics athletic training department or a sports medicine clinic
American Red Cross Instructor Certified for the Professional Rescuer
