Overview Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is seeking to develop a pool of adjunct faculty to teach mathematics courses throughout the 2025-2026 academic year. Positions are available at Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, and online.

Part‑time or temporary adjunct faculty positions offer flexible hours with the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals.

General Responsibilities Faculty members are professional educators committed to providing students with relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities. They facilitate student learning by preparing and delivering course materials, providing timely feedback on assignments and exams, assigning final grades, and connecting students to campus resources.

Essential Responsibilities

Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place.

Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment.

Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter.

Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions.

Conduct frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback throughout the quarter.

Assign and submit grades according to the college grading policy.

Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS.

Post and be available for a minimum of one (1) office hour each week that is reasonable for student access.

Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum.

Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology.

Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment.

Required Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. For remote work, candidates must reside in one of the following states: WA, OR, ID, CA, IL, PA, NE, NV, or TX.

Master's Degree in Mathematics; a closely related credential may substitute at the discretion of the college.

Dem proficiency teaching at the college level (minimum two years); teaching assistant or adjunct experience may count toward the requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral Degree in Mathematics.

Experience teaching at a community college.

Experience using instructional technology to support student learning, including LMS, digital whiteboards, and Zoom.

Experience teaching in a variety of modalities (in‑person, hybrid, blended, online).

Experience working with and relating to persons from varied cultural, ethnic, gender, age, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.

Conditions / Terms of Employment

Position is part‑time instruction contingent on enrollment and located at the Walla Walla Campus and/or online.

Hired individuals must provide acceptable documentation of lawful employment to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment and provide transcripts.

WWCC participates in E‑Verify.

Employees must participate in direct deposit for payment.

Compensation Compensation is contingent on enrollment and paid per the contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. Refer to the adjunct salary schedule (Appendix C) for details.
