Qualifications
16+ years of age
Some high school education
Strong communication skills with desire to meet everyone at their level of experience
Responsibilities
Provide a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs and enjoy the Arts and Humanities program experience
Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and be prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin at scheduled time
Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents; complete incident reports; take attendance
Assist in the instruction of program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards
Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program
Manage participant behavior using a collaborative approach with supervision and parents
Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine program participants’ skills
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
