Nursing Responsibilities
Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following:
Administer medications
Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed
Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed
Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider
Perform 14‑day physicals
Manage chronic care
Provide patient education on health concerns
Respond to medical emergencies
Be capable of performing life‑saving measures and lead in an emergency
Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including drug reactions/overdose, formulary/non‑formulary medications, and medication costs
Provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed
Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations
Location LaGrange County Jail, LaGrange, Indiana
Shift Part‑time 7 AM to 3 PM every other weekend OR every weekend, if desired
Pay $30‑$35 /hour based on experience
Bonus $4,000 Retention Bonus – $1,000 paid at 60 days, $1,000 paid at 6 months, $2,000 paid at 1 year.
Requirements
Valid LPN licensure
Valid CPR certification
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
