Tutor, Title I / EOY (25-26) End‑of‑Year position funded by Title I for the 2025-2026 school year.

General Definition of Work The Tutor, under general supervision, performs instructional work with minimal decision‑making discretion related to implementing a supplemental instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides, and encourages students to support and fulfill their academic goals. The employee performs school‑based work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the principal.

Salary/Status Flat Rate Hourly/Part‑time, 9 months. 20 Hours Per Week.

Reports To Principal

Place of Work The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte‑Mecklenburg Schools. The school district reserves the right to require work at other locations as reasonably required.

Essential Functions

Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.

Deliver educational lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.

Monitor and evaluate student progress to address individual needs.

Provide supervision of students to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public‑school system policies and technology programs.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to the school system.

Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress.

Ability to reflect appropriate responses to situations while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor.

Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment, or software related to business needs.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Equivalent combination of education and experience.
