Job Title Receiving Clerk

Department Warehouse-Receiving
Reports To Warehouse Manager
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in receiving operations, inventory software (preferably SAGE comparable software), and Excel. This role involves handling incoming shipments, verifying documentation, and ensuring accurate labeling and inventory tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
Unload trucks and handle packages safely and efficiently.
Verify packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
Open packages and confirm contents against purchase orders.
Label materials accurately for inventory and storage.
Enter receiving data into inventory management systems (SAGE).
Maintain organized records of received goods.
Communicate discrepancies or damaged goods to appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure smooth operations.
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (if certified).
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in a receiving or warehouse role.
Familiarity with inventory software such as SAGE or a comparable software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, sorting, basic formulas).Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds.
Forklift certification or experience is a plus.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
Basic understanding of inventory control and logistics.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve receiving issues.
