Position Summary
This position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of any of the Water/Wastewater Treatment, or Lift Station areas, as assigned.
Essential Duties
Makes routine checks on a variety of equipment and records information as required.
Performs a variety of operational tasks, some of which include wasting, pumping, sampling, transferring, supernating, skimming, washing, etc.
Performs analytical tests and calculations to insure proper process control of the treatment plant. Makes process control adjustments in response to lab results.
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment.
Maintains buildings and grounds as required.
Records information and fills out reports.
Must work with lift station personnel on occasion.
Requirements Knowledge and Skills
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have a basic knowledge of Wastewater Treatment operations and maintenance
Must have a Class III Operators License or the ability to obtain a Class III certification within 1 year of hire.
Physical/Environmental Requirements The environmental working conditions of this position will include working outside in all types of weather with exposure to dust or fumes and poor ventilation. This position requires lots of walking and is frequently subjected to loud noise. Mental stress or pressure of this position is very frequent.
