Physical Requirements: Handling of average‑weight objects up to 25 pounds, standing/walking for long periods; occasional patient restraint assistance.

Shift: Monday‑Friday may require nights and weekends.

Job Summary Eastern State Hospital is currently seeking a full‑time staff chaplain. The chaplain will provide direct patient care, make spiritual assessments, prioritize pastoral care needs, provide sacraments or make provisions for such, and address interfaith needs. Other responsibilities include preparing and providing services of worship, supporting staff through counsel and education, and maintaining sensitive interfaith community engagement. This position is located at ESH.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Basic literacy, numeracy, and general office skills.

Record and file maintenance.

Interpersonal skills appropriate to a professional health‑care setting.

Preferred Education & Experience

Master of Divinity or Master of Theology and a minimum of one year experience in a clinical setting.

Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an ACPE‑accredited training center.

Endorsement by a religious body as a chaplain.

Board Certified or eligible for certification through APC, NACC, or NAJC.

Master of Divinity preferred.
