Driver Responsibilities
Provide timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from activities, delivering quality service.
Assist disabled passengers into and out of the vehicle.
Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trips.
Safely operate radio, cell phone or pager to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
Maintain all community vehicles in good working condition.
Clean and service vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
Assist with vehicle registration and license plates renewal process.
Inspect and document vehicle condition on a monthly and per trip basis.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be 21 years or older.
Current commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
Experience in a customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.
Knowledge of safety precautions and the ability to comply with safety measures.
Strong organization, time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
