Utility Locator - USIC
Join USIC as a Utility Locator and play a vital role in preventing underground utility damage. This position focuses on safely and efficiently locating utilities across a broad range of sectors, including telecommunications, electrical power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
Compensation $20.00 hourly
Responsibilities
Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities.
Thoroughly search for utilities in designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete required documentation, and photograph each locate.
Work independently in the field using a company‑provided vehicle.
Manage tickets and claims through an advanced system to ensure clear and complete mark‑out services for excavators or property owners.
Perform full‑time daytime shifts with a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates, including overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call duties (including nights and weekends) as needed.

Requirements
Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Computer proficiency.
Available for overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
Must pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Ability to work in confined spaces; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to distinguish color codes used for wiring and marking utilities.
Read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
Communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
